Today (Saturday) after breakfast we drove over to Old Town San Diego to walk around a bit and see some of the historic sites there. Our hotel has been in a great location, everything we have done has been really close and hasn't take more than 15-20 minutes max to get there. I had read mixed reviews about Old Town San Diego, some people think it is quaint or interesting, other people say it's not worth your time. Well, I tend to lean to the more touristy side of traveling, Jacob and I like to go see things like this so we went! And it was free so who doesn't love that?! Basically, they just have a bunch of little old buildings set up to model what San Diego was like in its beginnings. Some of the buildings are museums and some are shops. Parking was free, and there were a number of places to park, but some of the roads were blocked off because of construction around the park so that made it more difficult to navigate. I would definitely say this was not Jackson's favorite day, I don't know if I would even say he tolerated it haha. Unless he was out of the stroller walking around or trying to get past barriers in the museums, he wasn't happy. We finally just let him run around the green area in the middle and he had a blast. Like I've said before, it's the simple things, right?? :0)

Just for anyone's future reference, they had free walking tours that departed from here a couple of times during the day. We were able to walk around ourselves and look at things easily, but if you wanted more information about the times and buildings, this would be a great option. They had a lot of different tours you could pay for as well, including a Ghosts and Haunted Buildings Tour that looked fun.

And we let the little guy free for a little bit to run off some of that energy. He enjoyed sitting on the cannon and the big rock they had there haha... and finding some sticks and chasing birds.

We ate lunch at Fiesta del Reyes. It was a cute Mexican restaurant, food was ok but it was nice sitting outside on their huge outdoor patio. Some nights they have live music and shows too.
We went back to the hotel for Jackson to take a nap, and we had planned to go over to North and South Park to walk around a little and eat. I had read that it was a part of town that had been built up recently and my friend Amy had told me it was similar to SoCo in Austin buuutt Jackson had other plans and got sick in the car on the way over there. Like so sick that mommy got sick when she tried to get him and clean it up! Yay parenthood!! He has been fine since then but we just went back to the hotel and grabbed something quick and went to the laundry room haha... reality check, right?! So thankful he has been ok since then and SO SO thankful for a washer in the hotel! So a nice quiet evening watching some Mickey Mouse and hanging out, which is probably what we needed anyway!
