My New Home :)

Many of you know that blogging is somewhat of a "nap time hobby" of mine... I like to have a running log of our family travels and experiences, and also a place for me to organize recipes that I use regularly.
I have gone back and forth, trying to decide if I wanted to move my blog over from blogspot to wordpress for a while now... I just like the look of wordpress better, it is cleaner to me, and has more features... so I took the plunge and exported my blog from blogspot over to wordpress. (P.S. this was stressful to think about but much easier to do than I thought it would be!)
So what does that mean for you? If you follow my blog or enjoy seeing our family posts and recipes, then you'll have to follow this new site and make a new bookmark! (Yes, I know, more change haha... I never seem to be able to stay settled and content with the way things are, I'm always looking for ways to improve things!)

I hope you enjoy the new look and feel of the site! It is organized very similarly to my old site, so hopefully you won't have trouble finding things you are looking for!
P.P.S. - I have finished my posts from our trip to Disney, you can find them under the Travel tab above, and I am also working on a big Whole30 Round 2 post. I am posting individual recipes, so you can find those under the Recipe tab above, but I will be compiling them into a large calendar post for anyone looking for a month long meal plan.
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Disney Vaca 2016 - Day 6: Heading Home!

When your mom tells you that we aren't getting on the "Disney bus" this morning to go to Disney World. I know son, I'm crying on the inside. I have to go back to laundry and dishes you know...

Time for breakfast!
Breakfast PJs!

After breakfast, we packed up our stuff and waited for the bell hop to bring us to the front of the resort. We were going to swim this morning but just ran out of time with check out being at 11. The resort had a nice bus service, loaded up our bags and dropped us off at the front. We just had to call ahead of time to reserve it.

Maybe not a Disney bus, but a cool resort van instead!
So the cool thing about our Magic Your Way Package, is that they checked into our flights for us, had bus tickets ready for us to head back to the air port, had a check in center at the resort where we checked into our flight, got our boarding passes AND said "See ya lata in Houston!" to our luggage. Yep, they took our luggage, tagged it and transported it to the airport for us. All we had to do once we got to the airport was go through security and get to our gate. I mean, pretty sweet set up if you ask me. I'll take that.
When Disney got your like... zzzz...
So I when I was little, my Dad and I would always find these  penny smashing machines and smash pennies on vacations. I probably have like 20 of these things in my closet at my mom's somewhere... but Jackson saw the machine and wanted to know what it did, so of course we had to show him! He thought it was pretty cool!
Eating snacks and waiting for our bus to get there!
These Disney people know what's going on. Cartoons and toys in the lobby? Why thank you!
We got to sit on the front row because we were the last getting on the bus, and Jackson thought that was pretty cool.

We got to the airport, went through a horrible security check line... I usually don't complain about security because I'm thankful we have security with all the crazies out there these days but it was just plain ridiculous today... an officer sent us through the handicap line because of our stroller (don't EVER do that people...just wait through the normal line and take your kids out of the stroller and carry them through or let them walk through) and it was sadly just so disorganized and not nearly enough workers to help those poor people through the line. They were having to get in and out of their wheel chairs and try to organize their belongings... it was just chaos. At one point a worker had separated Jackson from Jude and me and my Mama Bear almost took over...she pushed Jackson through the metal detector towards the people ahead of us and was making me stay on the other side to wait?!?! What in the world?! Please let me THREE year old stay with me and not be kidnapped by some random person on the other side where I can't get to him! I told her to send him back to me and after she looked at me like I was an idiot and completely inconveniencing her she did... it was just so disorganized and took way too long, blood sugars were dropping... probably the lowest point of our trip! eek! Anyway, sorry for the rant... moving on to passing time before our flight. Also, thank you Hobby Airport for having a great security terminal because we never have issues like this there. :)

Watching some Blaze!

Not a bad set up if you ask me... cartoons, toys and chicken nuggets? Toddler life is the life.
Just watching some plane traffic.
Finally got to board! Here we come Houston!
When you are JUST. READY. TO. BE. HOME.

Guess we know who he learned this from now.
Jude man likes looking out the window.
When you are trying to keep a toddler entertained... you take silly selfies.
Snoozing away...

So that is our trip to Disney World! I'm so glad you could join us on our adventures! Traveling is near and dear to my heart, I love to go and I love to talk about going! We definitely had ups and downs on our trip, but it was so worth going and spending time with my sweet family. In November, we will be taking a cruise with my parents so hopefully I will be able to share our adventures about that too! Check out my traveling tab above for my posts on other trips we have taken in the past!

Disney Vaca 2016 - Day 5: Chef Mickey and Magic Kingdom

Here's my biggest piece of advice for parents bringing littles to Disney World. Ready for it? It's earth shattering... and ground breaking...

Go in with low expectations and plan days for them to rest a little.

We did this, just trying to do what we could and not overdoing it. About every other day we came back to the resort room for a nap, and I think doing those things was what made our trip as enjoyable as it was. Our kids need their sleep, and Jackson has never been an on the go napper, so it was good for them to have breaks here and there.

Since we had visited all of the parks by our last day, I made a reservation for Chef Mickey for an early lunch and then we headed back to our room for naps. After naps we headed back to Magic Kingdom to hit a couple of things we missed on Day 2, and to eat dinner and stay out a little later for the electric light parade. So, here we go! Last day at the parks!

This may or may not have been my favorite shirt day haha...I'm so glad they can't read yet or have opinions about what I dress them in! But also right now it is true, I am their favorite haha, although Daddy has been taking the lead with Jackson lately. ;)

We got up and grabbed a couple of things for breakfast... a.k.a. muffin and coffee (yes please) and then went to Magic Kingdom just for a little bit before our Chef Mickey reservation. We watched a short performance at the castle by the new Princess from the Disney show, Elena of Avalon (something like that) and hey, this girl did an awesome job because her sound system totally failed and everyone on the stage just looked at her. So she was like, hey, I got this. And did the whole thing solo playing her guitar. Some of the guys with drums decided they could give her some beats too but she obviously didn't need them haha... Kudos to that girl, she needs a pay raise Disney. After that, we walked over to do the Buzz Light year ride.

After we rode Buzz, we hit the gift store and Jackson got a really cute Mickey train and I got a coffee mug! Whoo hoo! From there we headed to the monorail, and rode it around the loop. Jackson had been SO excited about the monorail the whole week, and every time he saw the monorail or the monorail tracks, he would yell, "THAT'S THE MONORAIL!!!!!" Haha it was really cute and everyone around us would just crack up. So we rode it around for a little bit and then got off at the Contemporary Resort where Chef Mickey was located.
That whole say, "cheese" thing is kind of lost on him occasionally haha...
"choo choo!"
He was so happy!
We checked in to our reservation and they called us back for our table. It's a buffet set up, they had breakfast and lunch stuff. We opted to mainly go for the breakfast because umm Mickey waffles. Yes, please. It was a really cute meal, and the boys loved it. We didn't get to see the characters as much as we did at the Garden Grill, because they only came to your table once to say hi, sign your book and take a picture, but we got to see a couple more characters here than at the other meal.

Minnie Mouse!

Hey there Mickey!
Mini Pancakes!
And tater tots!
Pluto! Our fave!

So many sweet smiles today!

Mickey is here!

Time for Goofey!
I told you, I have no idea what meal we were eating... breakfast?? Lunch?? Haha...

Yay Donald!

Love this shot!
Inside the Contemporary Resort

O the beloved monorail!
Ok, quick story time. So we were waiting for the monorail. And then it comes and we get on. And then all of a sudden I realize fox is NOT in Jude's hands anymore. And I freak because it was there just two seconds ago. I look outside the monorail door and there it is. Laying on the landing. And suddenly I find myself leaping from the monorail and yelling at the attendant at the gate, "HEY! I NEED THAT FOX!" He grabs it and tosses it to me, and I quickly turn back around and leap back on, with the doors closing right behind me. It was kind of stressful and everyone was basically clapping at my super hero mommy skills. I'm telling you, we are not leaving that fox behind again!

So we headed back to the resort for naps, and then back to Magic Kingdom for dinner and the electric light parade.

Before we went to ride the Peter Pan ride, Jackson turns to me and says, "Mom, let's take a picture!"
I love them so much.
Never a dull moment.
Peter Pan ride!
Dinner at the Diamond Horseshoe - yummy family style BBQ!

Listening to the piano!
We rode the train around to the front of the park...
Love this place all lit up at night!
Found a spot for the parade!
And snacks for the parade haha...

Tinkerbell!

Cinderella!
So fun!
Seven Dwarfs

Lights on the water as we walked back to the bus.
We headed back to the room for baths, pjs, books and bedtime! Tomorrow we head home!
